Dan Chisholm Show
A forty-year career in radio isn’t bad for the kid who dreamed of being ‘on the wireless’ at the age of seven. Dan Chisholm is now a well-known presenter from BBC and commercial local radio.
He grew up listening to many of the voices from the pirate stations through the sixties and seventies, but it was Kenny Everett’s creativity which led him to want to entertain behind the mic. After reading Emperor Rosko’s DJ book, he felt it was his destiny.
Dan’s big break came while working as a hi-fi sales assistant in his home city of Leicester. He heard a radio programme inviting applications for new recruits for the station’s youth programme. Dan secured a final audition and his dream career began.
Since then, he’s presented every sequence programme on the radio from early to late – and appeared on stations across the whole of the UK, most recently as late-night host in the West Country.
Dan’s an experienced journalist, sports commentator, producer and presenter, but his main passion is music. When he’s not listening to it, he’s either writing or producing it!
Memorable moments? An unforgettable interview with the comedian Frankie Howerd … and training as a producer at BBC Radio Two where he worked briefly with David Hamilton’s team!
Dan is looking forward to sharing classic tunes alongside the gems you may have missed or forgotten along the way. He promises that winning combination of a smile and a song.
