Pearly Gates

Pearl’s a singer born in Tuskegee, Alabama having worked with The Flirtations the group who had hits with ‘Jerk it’ ‘Nothing But a Heartache’ ‘Can’t Stop Loving You’ ‘Someone Out There’. She went solo and had hits with ‘Action’ ‘Burning Love’ and ‘Fandango Dancing’.

Arriving in the UK she appeared on the BBC television show “It’s Cliff Richard” on two consecutive series. Other TV appearances included the LWT show ‘High Summer’ ‘Punchlines’ ‘Night of a Hundred Stars’ ‘The Royal Variety Performance’ and series with BBC One called ‘Whatever Next’. She also starred in ‘Pepsodent’ toothpaste commercial and many others.

Pearly toured with legends including Stevie Wonder, The Four Tops, Cliff Richard, The Bee Gees, Jimmy James, Ben E. King, Tom Jones, the list goes on. Pearly Gates also sang The Title song Free Nelson Mandela at the Nelson Mandela Concert, at Wembley Stadium. Other television shows included Top Of The Pops, Bruce Forsyth, Wogan, and Des O’Connor.

In the middle of all this Pearly was persuaded by Tony Prince to try her hand at DJing on 208 Radio Luxembourg which was very successful and the reason she’s now back behind the microphone at United DJ Radio.

Currently, as well as just finishing a festival in GIJÓN, Spain and the amazing Latitude Festival with Mark Lemar Pearly Gates has just completed a 20 track album, stay tuned for details.
