In the 1980’s Peter became a DJ on Radio Luxembourg. He is delighted to return to UDJ Radio for the Saturday breakfast show. Saturdays 7-9am.
Peter Ross, along with his son Tom, is the founder and creator of Umu Media Group, a music production/promotion/management and publishing company. Having branched out into publishing and, supplying digital platforms for music and television events, Peter’s career has come full circle landing him back in the industry he feels most at home with.
Although Peter’s career has taken him from modelling, television work and a successful career as a buyer for Harrod’s and Gucci, he has always been drawn to the entertainment industry and his love of radio began in the 1980’s when he became a DJ on Radio Luxembourg. With subsequent stints on Jazz FM, Pennine Radio and Southern Sound and various other stations also hosting celebrity parties at ‘Legends’ club in London, one of which was held for Elizabeth Taylor, who personally asked Peter to supply the musical entertainment, his passion for the music industry was born.
The 1990’s saw Peter recognise his entrepreneur skills with a varied career that took him from establishing a highly successful, multi- million direct selling franchise, inventing and marketing his own in-car product worldwide and investing in various property portfolios. He was also involved with charity work, with one such charity receiving the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. Other charitable work included Centrepoint for homeless children and a film and merchandise project for charitable organisations.
As one never to stray too far from the entertainment industry and with a wealth of experience and connections in the music business, Peter went on to put together a West End production series. In January 2016 he produced “An Evening With”, bringing together on stage for the first time, three rock legends Russ Ballard, Brian May and Rick Wakeman.
Peter continues to work alongside some of the biggest names in an industry on a daily basis, a business that has inspired him his whole life and is delighted to return to UDJ Radio for the Saturday breakfast show.
